Educational visits made by ISL students are planned carefully to enhance the curriculum at each level of the school. Being located in London, means that ISL students have a tremendous opportunity to access the cultural richness and diversity of the city. London is also a major transport hub for the UK and Europe which enables educational visits to other parts of this country and the continent.
Educational Visits may take the following forms:
Visits to the theatre to see productions of set literary texts
Visits to London’s excellent museums and galleries
Attendance at specialist lectures
Practical Field Trips in Biology and Geography
Residential Weeks in Activity Centres in the UK, France and Spain
We ensure that all visits are
related directly to the curriculum followed by students and are specifically designed to enhance a student’s knowledge and understanding of the curriculum content. We also carry out risk assessments for all educational visits to ensure the safety of students.
In addition to the educational visits, each February the school organises an optional ski trip to the Italian Alps. The students are given the opportunity to receive ski instruction according to their ability level, as well as enjoy other activities like snowboarding.
Students in Year 11 and 12 may also attend the Model United Nations, held in a different country each year. Coached by experienced ISL teachers, the students spend a great deal of time learning about the countries they are representing, as well as improve on their presentation and debating skills.
