  Law, Erinna

Erinna is the Deputy Head of Primary School. She has a BEd, Diploma of Primary teaching, Diploma of Art and Creativity and CELTA (A). She has previously taught in New Zealand, England and Hungary. Erinna has over 14 years of teaching experience and has been at ISL since 2007.

  Lee, Carole

Carole teaches ESL/IE in Secondary and is the ESL Co-ordinator. She qualified from the University of London Institute of Education and has since worked in Britain, Belgium, Greece and Lebanon. Carole first joined ISL in 1987 as a Primary teacher and she was appointed Head of Primary in 1995. In 1999, Carole moved abroad where she worked as a SENCO, acquired further qualifications in ESL and volunteered with several NGOs.

  Lowe, Solange

Solange is Head of Language A (Mother Tongue) and teaches French Language and Literature. She has a Licence (BA) and Maitrise (MA) in Classics and French Language/philology/ literature from Poitiers University; a DEA (MPhil) from the Sorbonne Paris IV in History of Religions and Late Antiquity. She is a qualified teacher CAPES + (CAREL of Royan). Solange has been at ISL for nineteen years and has previously taught in France.

  Lynch, BoBo

BoBo teaches English and Drama at MYP and Diploma Level. She has degrees in English Literature and Law, a Masters in Drama in Education from Warwick University and a PGCE in English and Drama from Cambridge University. She has previously worked as an Environmental Lawyer, in Development, with National Radio and as a Teacher in the U.A.E., China, Pakistan and England. She now most enjoys devising and storytelling workshops in Drama.

  Matsukuma, Tamako

Tamako teaches Diploma, MYP and PYP Japanese. After obtaining BA in Linguistics and qualifying to teach Japanese language and literature, she taught for several years in Japan. Since coming to England she has taught at the Japanese School of London and at ISL for the last seven years.

  Minvielle, Benedicte

Benedicte is the Year 1 primary teaching assistant. She has previously worked as an assistant in the ISL Library. She has a Diploma of Management from the French University Institute of Technology. Benedicte joined ISL in 2007.

  Mitchell, Martha

Martha teaches English. She has a Bachelors Degree in English and Education (Hons) from Cambridge University and a Masters Degree in English Literature (MPhil) from Birmingham University. Martha is in her fourth year at ISL. She has previously taught in a number of schools in the UK and taught English Literature to undergraduate students at Wolverhampton University and Worcester University.

  Mogensen, Mia

Mia is the Year 3 teacher. She has a BA of Education from Frederiksberg University in Denmark. She has previously taught in Denmark and joined ISL in 2007.

  Mohamed Yusuf, Zahra

Zahra is the Year 5 primary classroom assistant. She has a degree in Geology from Somali National University. She has a PhD in Meso-Cenozoic Corals (Macro Palaeontology) from the University of Modena (Italy). Zahra joined ISL in 2008.

  Moore, David

David is the Primary PE teacher and is also the Co-curricular Coordinator. David took his Bachelor of Sport and Leisure Studies at the University of Waikato and then completed a Graduate Diploma of Teaching at Massey University in Auckland, New Zealand. David has previously taught in New Zealand and South Korea. He has a keen interest in sports, especially soccer and volleyball. David has been at ISL since 2007.

  Morris, Paul

Paul is Head of Upper School and IB Diploma Programme Coordinator. He has a BSc (Hons) in Physics (University of Manchester), a PGCE from Manchester Metropolitan University and an M.A. in the History of Ideas from the University of London . He has also taught in France, Spain, Mexico and in England. He was previously Middle Years Programme Coordinator and Head of Science at ISL.

  Mouawad, Karam

Karam has taught MYP Food Technology at The International School of London since 2002. He is a graduate from the Ecole Normal National De Pyrenees in Toulouse and holds a Diploma BTS and CFPT (Centre Formation De Professeur Technique).

  Netchaev, Alexandre

Alexandre teaches PYP and MYP language B and is in his first year at ISL. He is doing a PhD on English Radicalism and has a BA in teaching French Language. He has taught previously in a preparatory school and in the University of Shefffield.

  Newman, Michelle

Michelle is the Year 6 teacher. She has a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) and a Bachelor of Education (ESL) from the University of Western Sydney. She has over ten years teaching experience and has taught in both Australia and England. Michelle has been at ISL since 2008.

  Owen, Hyun-Jung

Hyun-Jung teaches MYP mother tongue and language A Korean. She has a BA from Kyung-nam University in Korea. She taught English over ten years in Korea and now is teaching Korean in ISL.

  Pantehis, Michael

Michael is the Head of Primary School. He has a BEd from the University of Sydney and he has previously taught in Australia. Michael has been at ISL since 2007.

  Pascoe, Tim

Tim is Senior Teacher and Head of Mathematics and is in his sixth year at ISL. He gained his degree in Mathematics and Education from the University of London. Tim has previously taught in the UK and Bahamas. He has played squash for the Bahamas national veterans squash team and now coaches squash at ISL.

  Patwal, Maya

Maya is the Year 4 primary classroom assistant. She has taught Primary IT and MYP Textile previously. Maya holds a BA in English, Hindi, POLS and HIST from Delhi University, India. In addition she holds a certificate in Integrated Business & Technology. She has previously worked in London and India. Maya has been at ISL since 2002.

  Pawel, Cristina

Cristina is Head of Arts and Technology. She teaches CDT and photography and is also the Yearbook editor. She is a graduate of the Catholic University of Sao Paulo where she also gained her PGCE. Cristina also has a Degree in Photography (University of Westminster) and a MA in Fine Art from Wimbledon School of Art. She has taught at ISL for fourteen years.

  Pearce, Richard

Richard teaches Biology at IB Diploma level and has worked at ISL since 1972. Richard has a BA in Natural Sciences (Botany) from Cambridge University and a PhD in International Education from the University of Bath. He has taught in the USA and in international schools, and also on postgraduate courses at Bath and at Oxford Brookes Universities. Richard has published a number of articles and book chapters on subjects related to culture and identity and he is a member of the Cross-cultural committee of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS).

  Peerless, Dana

Dana teaches IB Diploma Czech and is in her seventh year at ISL. She has a MA in Czech and English Language and Literature from the Charles University in Prague and she has previously taught Czech and English in the Czech Republic. Dana has also been teaching Czech as a foreign language in London for twelve years and is an associate member of the Institute of Linguists.

  Pithouse, Roselyne

Roselyne teaches language B Spanish and English at ISL. She has taught French and English at the GRETA in France and French and Spanish for nineteen years in variety of schools and colleges both in the independent and state sectors in the UK. She has a degree in Hispanic Studies from the University of Lyon II in France and a PGCE in French and Spanish from The Institute of Education, London University. She has published two Spanish course books for Hodder Murray.
