The International School of London, founded in 1972, is a private, co-educational, primary, secondary and university preparatory day school. ISL offers an international curriculum through the three International Baccalaureate programmes. ISL serves the needs of the international community in London. It aims to maximise the achievements of its students through the curriculum and in personal and social fields. Drawing on the rich variety of cultures represented at the school, ISL aims to develop in each student a global outlook which seeks to understand and appreciate the attitudes and values of others. The school is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is an IB World School.

Facilities

ISL is situated in a purpose built educational establishment in West London (Chiswick/Ealing/ Acton border). Facilities include recently modernised classrooms, full multimedia facilities, computerised library, indoor sports hall and stage and basketball court. The school is adjacent to Gunnersbury Park and is close to the Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre.

Curriculum

ISL follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma (IBD). These programmes are designed to fulfil the ISL vision of combining intellectual rigour and high academic standards with a strong emphasis on the ideals of international understanding and responsible citizenship. As an international school based at the heart of a cosmopolitan metropolis we actively promote the appreciation of cultural diversity within the school as well as encourage meaningful integration with the surrounding community.

Primary (3-10 years old) The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) - a child-centred, inquiry-based curriculum, which focuses on student learning and the development of concepts, knowledge, skills, attitudes and action.

Secondary (11-15): The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) - a framework for an internationally minded curriculum aiming to foster the attitudes of global citizens, nurture the lifelong learning skills, and equip students to adapt to the challenges of an ever shrinking world combined with an academically rigorous programme.

IB Diploma (16-18): The IB Diploma (IBD) - offered at ISL since 1975. – a two-year course accepted as an entrance qualification by universities throughout the world. Its aims are to provide a balanced education and to promote international understanding.
